The Bluffton Police Department is hosting its inaugural Safety Spooktacular October 29 at Oscar Frazier Park. This event is in lieu of the National Night Out, which was canceled October 5 due to thunderstorms and inclement weather.
Bluffton Police officers combined a Halloween theme with National Night Out’s mission for public safety officers and their community to connect and invented the department’s first “Safety Spooktacular.” This is a free event for the community. Bluffton police officers will be grilling hotdogs and all public safety organizations will hand out candy during the Spooktacular. All attendees, regardless of age, are welcome and encouraged to wear costumes.
The greater Bluffton community is invited to learn more about the following agencies and organizations through exhibits and demonstrations:
- Town of Bluffton
- Bluffton Police Department
- Bluffton Township Fire District
- Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office
- Lowcountry Alliance for Healthy Youth
- Teens for Healthy Youth
“Our Safety Spooktacular was born out of the unfortunate decision to cancel National Night Out,” Chief Stephenie Price said. “However, when Mother Nature and thunderstorms got in the way of our plans, an opportunity presented itself to connect with our community on different night. We added in some grilling, some thrilling costumes and candy to make this event more fun than originally planned. We hope to see you there, in costumes!”
