On Thursday July 11, our Pine Ridge community had 18 volunteers show up to help with the Playground Mulch Project. Those volunteers included 7 Pine Ridge residents and a crew of 11 from Hargray, all working hard in the summer heat to get the new mulch spread.
In total, there were 16,000 lbs of mulch used. The mulch was delivered on Tuesday and came on 8 pallets containing 50 bags each. That’s 400 bags that had to be moved, opened and spread out!
Our crew of volunteers managed to do all of that in under an hour! Awesome team work!! Never has the phrase, “many hands make light work” been so true. Thank you all for your hard work!
The project was coordinated by our Grounds Committee chairperson, Betty Black with assistance from committee members and Hargray Community & Developer Relations, Grace Kurtz.
